First-Time Home Buyer Grants

FIRST FRONT DOOR (FDD)

Assistance Amount: For every $1 you contribute, you can receive $3 in grant assistance-up to a maximum of $15,000.

Purpose: To help with down payment and closing costs.

Eligibility:

1. Must be a first-time homebuyer (not owned a home in the past three years).

2. Contribute a minimum of $1,500 toward down payment and closing costs.

3. Household income at or below 80% of the are median income.

4. Calculate at least four hours of homeownership counselling prior to purchase.

KEYSTONE FORGIVABLE IN TEN YEARS LOAN PROGRAM (K-FIT)

Assistance Amount: Provides 5% of the lesser of the purchase price or appraised value with no maximum dollar limit.

Purpose: To assist with down payment and closing costs.

Repayment: The loan is forgiven annually over ten years at a rate of 10% per year

Eligibility:

1. Must meet the requirements of the applicable PHFA first mortgage program.

2. Minimum credit score of 600.

Liquid assets not exceeding $50,000 after deducting funds needed to close.

NEIGHBORHOOD LIFT PROGRAM

Assistance Amount: Up to $15,000 in down payment and/or closing cost assistance.

Purpose: To assist eligible home buyers with purchasing a home.

Eligibility:

1. Must meet eligibility requirements.

2. Completion of homebuyer education through an approved agency is required.

Availability: Funded by Wells Fargo with a $5 million investment; the program aims to assist approximately 260 homebuyers in Philadelphia.
